Old floor tear-up + haul
Carpet, old laminate, vinyl sheet - all removed and hauled. Subfloor left clean.
Subfloor moisture + level check
Moisture meter + long straight-edge before any material goes down. Problems quoted in writing.
Underlayment
Foam underlayment or vapor barrier depending on material and subfloor type.
Laminate / LVP / tile install
Click-lock, glue-down, or nail-down - whichever the material calls for. No shortcuts.
Transitions + thresholds
T-mold, reducer, end cap - tight fit at every doorway, stair, or surface change.
Quarter-round + shoe molding
Cut, nailed, caulked - hides the expansion gap cleanly at every wall.
Door clearance check
Doors planed if the new floor is thicker than the old. No door that drags.
Full cleanup + furniture back
All dust swept, furniture moved back, floor wiped down before walkthrough.

Bergen County floor note
Fort Lee and Paramus condos often have concrete slabs - LVP with a vapor barrier floats over them cleanly. Hackensack and Teaneck colonials usually have plywood subfloors that need a level check and occasional shimming. Jaime prices both honestly before install day.

How do you limit dust and downtime?
Jaime cuts outside when possible, manages careful removal, and keeps pathways clean and safe throughout the job. Most single-room installs in Hackensack and Bergen County finish in a day with tidy transitions and no lingering mess.
Will you move my furniture for the install?
Yes - that's part of the job. Big pieces go to the next room or center of the room while we install around them, then everything goes back. Pianos and antiques over 200 lbs we'll quote separately so we can bring a helper. Standard for Jaime's Handyman Service across Bergen County.
