The technique
Three coats. Sanded between each.
That's why it's invisible.
Most handymen do one coat of mud, let it dry, sand it down, and call it done. Under paint it looks fine for a week - then the seam telegraphs through and you can see the patch from across the room.
Jaime uses three coats: tape coat (taping over the joint), fill coat (builds up the surface), finish coat (feathers 12–18 inches on each side). Sanded between each coat with a pole sander, HEPA vacuum on the tool. Final coat sanded to glass. Then spot-primed so the sheen matches.
The old First Ward colonials in Hackensack have plaster walls - not drywall. Jaime works in plaster too. Same three-coat discipline, longer dry time.
