Reeves – Reed Arboretum

In the late 1800s, the Reeves-Reed Arboretum was first established as a private estate garden and eventually opened to the public in 1974. The Arboretum has 13 acres of botanical landscaping, six acres of woodlands, and 5.5 scenic acres of formal gardens. You can see award-winning roses, azaleas, and even a Tibetan-style herb garden. It is located at 165 Hobart Ave, Summit, NJ 07901.

The Reeves-Reed Arboretum is a beautiful historic estate located in Summit, New Jersey. The grounds include the historic Wisner House and several outbuildings. The garden is a living museum, featuring beautiful gardens and a historic home. There are several buildings on the property, including the gallery for cultural exhibits, classrooms for education programs, and a greenhouse.

Visitors can enjoy a garden tour or a self-guided tour at the Reeves-Reed Arboreitum. Admission is free, though a $5 suggested donation is appreciated. The arboretum is open daily, from dawn to dusk. Native Americans once traversed the grounds, and they built a cannon near the signal beacon on Second Watchung Mountain.

The Arboretum also offers special programs for children, ranging from educational programs to outdoor programs. School groups visit regularly for field trips. Special programs for scout groups earn badges. There are nature-themed camps for children as well as weekly garden and bird feeding workshops. There are classes for all ages and interests, and the show is designed to be accessible to all ages.

Susie Graham Reeves Rose Garden boasts more than 286 rose bushes and 150 varieties. The garden is laid out in a circular pattern with a cherub fountain. The garden features old-fashioned roses flanking a formal area, while climbing roses are trained on chains and posts. The arboretum is also home to a Lilac Garden and an Herb Garden. Read this.
