Tenafly Nature Center

If you have never been to the Tenafly Nature Center, you’re in for a treat! This nature center sits on a critical migrator flyway, so you’re sure to see plenty of birds here! Spring and fall migration are especially spectacular at this location, and you can even take pictures of your own! The building at the center is a hub for a variety of activities, including interpretive displays. You can join the Nature Center to get discounts on programs, which run throughout the year. For a great family day out, you can visit the Tenafly Nature Center. It’s located on almost 400 acres of wooded land and features seven miles of trails and Pfister’s Pond. You’ll also be able to visit the center’s visitor center and see live animals and nature exhibits, as well as the library for members. Visitors can also enjoy the center’s butterfly-attracting flowering plants, which are perfect for attracting butterflies.
If you’re driving, you can use the George Washington Bridge to cross the Hudson Avenue Bridge. Then, head north on Lemoine Avenue and take Rt. 9W. From there, you can take exits on East Clinton Ave and Engle St. Follow these signs to Tenafly. You’ll find parking and restrooms near the nature center. And don’t forget to bring your camera, because cell phone reception is very poor here.
During the summer months, you can visit the Butterfly House at the Tenafly Nature Center. This butterfly house is open from mid-June until Labor Day. You’ll have a chance to see some native species and even view their chrysalises. While you’re at it, you can also check out the butterfly garden.
