Soffit & fascia for NJ homes
Rotting fascia pulls gutters down.
Failing soffit lets pests in.
Fix both in a day.
Serving New Jersey. Across North Jersey, the Jersey Shore, and statewide exterior projects. NJ Vinyl Siding wraps fascia on-site from aluminum coil stock, installs vented or solid soffit panels, and coordinates the roofline sequence with your gutter and roofing work. Written fixed price. Bilingual crew in English and Spanish.
What you get
Wrapped on-site. No open edges. Coordinated with gutters.
Most fascia failures on North Jersey homes are not a new-board problem, they are a wrap problem. Wood fascia absorbs water where the paint fails, softens behind the gutter, and the hangers lose their grip. Aluminum wrapping stops that cycle by covering the board completely - no painted surface to crack, no exposed end grain to wick moisture. NJ Vinyl Siding cuts the coil stock on-site so every run is a single piece with tight return folds, then coordinates the soffit panels above so the whole roofline looks finished. Free on-site estimate, written fixed price, bilingual crew.

Full roofline system
Fascia wrap, soffit panels, drip edge alignment. Every run documented before we leave.
Three material options
Right material. Right profile. Right color.
Aluminum-Wrapped Fascia
Fascia is the board the gutters bolt to. On most North Jersey homes built before 2000 it is wood, and once it starts to rot the gutters pull away and water runs behind into the wall. Aluminum wrapping goes over the existing board in most cases - no demolition needed unless the wood is actively spongy. NJ Vinyl Siding cuts the coil stock on-site to fit each run, folds the return edges tight, and matches color to the gutter and trim. The result looks factory-finished and lasts decades.
Vented Soffit Panels
Soffit is the underside of the roofline overhang - the flat panel you see when you look up at the eave. On older NJ homes those panels are solid, which blocks attic airflow and traps heat and moisture. Replacing solid panels with vented soffit gives the attic the continuous intake it needs to work with ridge vents and avoid ice dam buildup in winter. NJ Vinyl Siding installs aluminum or vinyl vented soffit depending on the existing profile, matched to the new fascia color.
Solid and Fiber Cement Soffit
Homes getting a full exterior package or James Hardie siding often need fiber cement soffit to match. Fiber cement holds paint longer than vinyl and handles the close-to-ground moisture on low eaves better than aluminum on some profiles. NJ Vinyl Siding installs HardieSoffit panels on Hardie jobs and standard aluminum or vinyl solid soffit on full siding replacements where venting is already handled by ridge and gable vents.
Heard this before?
Real roofline worries. Straight answers.
“I see peeling paint under the roofline overhang and noticed some wasp nests up there. Not sure if it's a soffit problem.”
Peeling paint and pest activity under the overhang are both signs of failing soffit panels. Water gets behind cracked or separated panels, and wasps find the gap to build behind. NJ Vinyl Siding removes the old panels, treats the framing for moisture, and installs new aluminum or vinyl soffit with tight-fitted edges that close the entry points.
“My gutters keep pulling away from the house even after I've had them re-attached twice in the last few years.”
Gutters that keep pulling away almost always have rotting fascia underneath. The hanger screws are holding in wood that has lost its grip. Aluminum-wrapping the fascia alone does not fix active rot - NJ Vinyl Siding inspects the board, replaces sections that have gone spongy, then wraps the entire run and re-hangs the gutters correctly so the fasteners hold for years.
“My attic runs very hot in summer and I replaced the roof last year but the roofer said the soffit might be the issue.”
A hot attic with a new roof usually means intake airflow is blocked. Ridge vents need cool air coming in from the soffit to pull heat out the top. NJ Vinyl Siding replaces solid soffit panels with vented profiles to give the ridge vent system the intake it needs - this is a common fix on 1970s and 1980s North Jersey colonials that were built with solid soffits.

Soffit + fascia + gutters + roofing
One schedule for the whole roofline.
Drip edge sits behind the fascia. Gutters bolt to the fascia. Soffit ventilates above it all. When roofing, fascia, and gutters go in on separate schedules by separate crews, the sequencing gets missed and water finds a path behind the wall. NJ Vinyl Siding plans the roofline in the right order: fascia first, drip edge second, gutters last. Bundle with new siding and the full exterior goes in on one written contract.

Every job
Fascia prepped first. Drip edge coordinated. Written timeline upfront.
Our process
Inspection to final color match.
Roofline inspection
We check every run of fascia for rot and soft spots, note the existing soffit type, and confirm whether drip edge needs to be reset. You get photos and notes in English or Spanish before any work starts.
Written fixed price
Line items covering old material removal, fascia wrapping or replacement, soffit panels, gutter re-hang if needed, and labor. No change orders once we start.
Fascia prep
Existing fascia boards are inspected after old trim comes off. Sections that have gone spongy are replaced before the aluminum wrap goes on - wrapping over active rot just covers the problem.
Aluminum wrap and soffit install
Coil stock is cut on-site to fit each run exactly. Soffit panels go in with the correct profile - vented where attic intake is needed, solid elsewhere. Tight fits at every corner and return.
Drip edge and gutter coordination
Drip edge sits behind the fascia. When we are doing fascia and the homeowner also wants gutters, we sequence both on the same visit so the gutter back rests correctly against the wrapped fascia board.
Color match and walkthrough
Every run is color-matched to siding and gutter trim. Homeowner walks the roofline before we leave, documented in English or Spanish.
Cut for NJ freeze-thaw
Aluminum coil stock does not crack, peel, or rot through North Jersey winters. Unlike painted wood fascia, the wrap holds its finish through repeated freeze-thaw cycles without annual maintenance.
Written scope before we start
Fixed-price proposal covering old material removal, fascia board condition, wrapping, soffit panels, and labor. No change orders after the old trim comes down.
Whole exterior, one crew
Soffit, fascia, gutters, roofing, and siding coordinated on a single written contract when you do the full exterior at once. Sequenced so drip edge, fascia wrap, and gutter line up correctly.

Homeowner Stories
What NJ homeowners say.
“Our attic was running very hot in July. The roofer said the ridge vent was fine but the soffit might be blocking intake. NJ Vinyl Siding replaced the solid soffit with vented panels in one day. The attic temperature dropped noticeably that summer. No new roof needed.”
“Gutters kept pulling away every winter. NJ Vinyl Siding pulled off the gutters, found two rotten fascia boards, replaced those sections, wrapped the whole run, and re-hung the gutters. They've held through two full winters.”
Diane M. · Fort Lee, NJ
“Bundling soffit, fascia, and siding in one visit was the right call. The crew sequenced the drip edge and gutter prep correctly. I didn't have to manage two separate contractors.”
Bill K. · Hackensack, NJ

Common questions
Soffit and fascia questions, honest answers.
What North Jersey homeowners ask before a soffit and fascia replacement.
What's included in soffit and fascia replacement in NJ?
A full soffit and fascia job from NJ Vinyl Siding covers removal of old material, inspection and replacement of any rotted fascia boards, on-site aluminum coil wrapping for the fascia, vented or solid soffit panels matched to your attic ventilation plan, drip edge coordination with the roofline, gutter re-hang if needed, and color matching to siding and trim. Most Bergen and Passaic County homes are finished in one day with a written fixed price agreed on before work starts.
Does fascia need to be replaced before new gutters?
Yes. If the fascia board is soft or rotting, gutter hangers will not hold no matter how well the gutters are installed. NJ Vinyl Siding inspects fascia condition at every gutter estimate. Sections that have gone spongy are replaced or wrapped before the new gutters go on - this is the only way hangers hold through North Jersey freeze-thaw cycles. Skipping this step is why gutters pull away after one winter.
