For a more historic perspective on the state, check out the New Jersey State Museum. The museum includes a planetarium and a fine art collection. You can also see the Old Barracks Museum, which was used as a military hospital during the Revolutionary War.
Another great place to visit is the Barnegat Lighthouse. Located inside Barnegat State Park, the lighthouse features 217 steps to the top. Once you’re at the top, you can enjoy the migratory birds that migrate through the area. You can also explore the interpretive center, which will give you an overview of the history of the lighthouse.
