Liberty Hall Museum

If you’ve never been to the Liberty Hall Museum Union NJ, you’re missing out. The historic house, once inhabited by some of the country’s most influential figures, has been reborn as a museum. Although it originally consisted of only fourteen rooms, it now features a fifty-room Victorian Italianate mansion. Its history dates back to the Colonial period and includes a visit to the American Revolution. It is located at 1003 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
The house is located on 23 acres and features five event spaces, including a Victorian-style carriage house, a wagon shed, and a glass-enclosed porch. They can accommodate up to 150 guests, and each venue is fully furnished. A bridal suite is also available for a rehearsal dinner or bridal shower. The building itself is a historic site and is situated on the Liberty Hall Campus of Kean University in Union, New Jersey. The property was originally constructed in 1772 as a fourteen-room Georgian-style house. The home was the home of William Livingston, the first governor of New Jersey from 1776 until 1790. His wife, Susan Livingston Kean, was the wife of a Continental Congress delegate, and the son of a United States Senator, Hamilton Fish Kean. The house was destroyed by both the British and American armies during the American Revolution, but Livingston returned to the house after the war. He lived here until 1790, and his grandson, Henry Brockholst Livingston, inherited the house from his parents. Find out more.
