Ho-Ho-Kus built most of its homes between 1920 and 1985. Colonials and larger suburban homes fill North Ho-Ho-Kus, Warren Avenue, and the blocks toward Ridgewood and Paramus on wooded lots with prized street presence. Pre-war colonials near the village center date to the 1920s through 1940s, while post-war builds and expansions filled in through the 1970s and 80s.

A lot of what is on those walls now went up when the house changed hands in the 1980s or 90s. Panels still stand but the color is gone, J-channel has separated, and trim capping fails before field panels look bad from the curb. When we open a wall at the estimate, we sometimes find vinyl-over-vinyl or skipped housewrap from a fast install. Pre-1980s colonials may still carry original aluminum underneath that was never properly torn off.

What goes on today looks nothing like first-generation vinyl on these prized streets. CertainTeed insulated lap, trim capping, and housewrap handle northern Bergen freeze-thaw better than panels from the 1990s. Dutch-lap and smooth-face panel styles fit colonial proportions here. We seal every opening before panels go on and write line-item proposals so homeowners compare panel styles before committing.
